Building Commissioner Town of Adams The Town of Adams seeks qualified applicants for the position of Building Commissioner within the Community Development Department.
Duties include examining building plans to ensure compliance with MA building codes, AAB, zoning, and other related laws, regulations, and standards.
Requires knowledge of accepted requirements for building construction, fire prevention, ventilation, and safe egress; in-depth knowledge of 780 CMR; the ability to interpret and enforce the Town's zoning bylaws; and excellent communications skills.
Possession of MA Certification as a Building Commissioner required or possession of MA Certification as a Local Inspector with the ability to obtain Commissioner certification within 12 months.
Inspector of Buildings/Building Commissioner certification preferred.
Salary commensurate with experience.
